It's been years since I considered myself a web designer. I used to be
able to sniff out the way a page was made just by the way the images
rolled in. I'm reading this book "The Language of New Media" for Art Tech
& Design class. I used to read the posts on rhizome and loved the
whole complex web of theory that people [including the guy who wrote this
book] were creating to explain what the hell they d to themselves adn some
future audience. That was a goal of mine once -- being able to explain
each design decision of mine in aesthetic, technological and theoretical
terms like some wierd Constructivist creation. But I'm reading this book, and surfing around today I realised that I'd hit a page that used frames, but that I hadn't even noticed until I skipped ahead faster than the frames loaded... Both of these things are wierd to me -- I used to care so much about exactly this sort of stuff... Will I ever go back to it? I still like making pages, even if I don't make tons of them everyday like I used to... |
