I've had the same email address for five years, so I get a lot of spam, most of it promising me riches, success and a general sense of well-being if only I sign up for credit cards, pseudo-fake diplomas, hair growth gel, discount travel packages to Orlando, Mini scooters, Master 2000 business to business services and Karamelkorn franchises. Spam is the dirty underside of marketing -- a daily dose of non-sequitirs. Most TV ads aren't much better -- you'd think the average American spends most of their time buying large cars, candy and laundry detergent. I feel exempt from most of the ads I see on a regular basis, mostly because my favorite shows are not in my demographic -- I like the music, but the closest I get to buying an SUV is getting on an empty city bus.

I gave up on tracking down the evil spammers when I realised that the more time I spent looking for the senders, the more spam I got. I couldn't avoid this one though... Gauranteed!
